Meet the Coach

Eric grew up in Brentwood and attended Heritage High School from 2007-2011. He ran on varsity cross country and track for four years at Heritage.

Eric was elected team captain of Heritage’s cross country team for his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. He also was Heritage’s Most Valuable Runner in his sophomore and junior seasons.

Eric was also a standout in track & field. He helped Heritage’s Track & Field team win three consecutive BVAL Championships (’09,’10,’11). In his senior year, he overcame a 14 month long knee injury with the help of physical therapy, and the support of his family, friends, and coaches.

Eric’s hard work paid off and it led to an undefeated BVAL season in the 1600m and 3200m races. He was awarded as Heritage’s Most Valuable Track Athlete his senior year.

In his last race of high school, he bested his own 1600m school record by three seconds at the NCS Meet of Champions with a time of 4:17.51. His time still stands as the 2nd fastest mile time of any runner in Heritage High School history, including all of Liberty Union High School District history.

When Eric graduated from Heritage High School, he owned the following school records:

  • 2 mile (Cross Country)

  • 3 mile (Cross Country)

  • 5k (Cross Country)

  • Distance Medley Relay

  • 4x800m Relay

  • 1600m

  • 3200m

  • 800m: 1:56.4   

  • 1600m: 4:17.5   

  • 3200m: 9:43    

  • 5k: 15:56  

  • 8k: 26:34

  • 10k: 33:30

Coaching Qualifications:

  • NFHS Certified

  • 8 Years coaching experience in track & field & cross country

  • Adult/Child/Infant CPR and First Aid Certified

Eric Morford

Head Coach & Owner

Eric’s success in high school earned him a spot on Cal Poly San Luis Obispo’s D1 Cross Country and Track & Field teams. Eric redshirted his first year in both sports. In his second year at Cal Poly SLO, Eric’s highlight was running the Stanford Invite 8k (5 miles) for the Mustangs and ran 26:34 (5:19 Per Mile).

At 28 years of age, Eric has already completed seven years of coaching cross country and track at a local high school & with USATF.
