High School Winter XC Team
High School Winter XC Team
REQUIRED EMERGENCY FORM (click to download)
ALL ATHLETES SIGNING UP FOR THE PROGRAM MUST COMPLETE BEFORE BEGINNING PRACTICE!
Coach’s note: With high school XC season up in the air, there is a need for the youth to still get to experience what cross country running is all about. The goal of hosting a Limitless Cross Country season is to provide the youth of our community an opportunity to continue to not only train but to compete as well in the safest environment that I can offer.
Season Length: 12/14 - to TBD
Practice Days: Varies
Practice Time: Afternoons, mornings over winter break.
All athletes MUST be able to run for 35min without walking! (Evergreen pack is 20min w/o walking)
INTRODUCING MINIPODS
Due to the current stay at home order, our club is tightening up our group sizes even more for at least the next few weeks. Athletes will be placed into groups of no more than 5 athletes to train with. This helps to reduce contact with others and obviously reduce the transmission of any viral infection. Please fill out the below Google Form to give me your preferences.
I hope to transition from MINIPODS at some point in January back to our regular group sizes of no more than 15 students. For the time being though, athletes will be able to meet 2x a week with Coach Eric while in MINIPODS. When in larger groups, the practice count will rise to 3-4x a week for practices.
PRACTICE SCHEDULE COMING FRIDAY, DECEMBER 11TH.
COVID INFO (IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ)
For the time being, we are adjusting our pod sizes to no more than 5. Hopefully around January, we raise it back up to what it was before to group sizes of around 15.
The practice schedule is subject to change as allowance may give us the ability to start condensing groups and allowing more runners into the program. This will ONLY be the case if we are given the clearance by the county.
Masks are required to be worn when attending practices. The only time masks are not required during practice are when an athlete is running. Any time a mask if off, athletes must maintain appropriate social distance between each other. This is about providing the safest environment possible and decreasing the risks as much as we can.
If an athlete in one of the packs does test positive for COVID-19, the program will shut down for a period of 10 days and allow for all team members to remain quarantined.
How will athletes know which group they are with?
Training packs will be created on the basis of the following criteria: speed, gender, and training volume.
Training packs may incur slight changes if there is a need to move a few from groups to ensure a better training environment. In order to keep the integrity of each group and keep our “bubbles” intact, changes will only be made every three weeks if needed. Week 3, 6, 9 , 12.
